Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Her Majesty's Theatre MelbournePre-Review

Today Charlie (4) and I went along to a Media preview of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne last night.  We got to see Chitty’s first flight: it was truly impressive, you wont be disappointed.  Charlie leapt out of his seat and was glued.  When he saw his dad tonight the first thing he announced was “I saw a flying car today!!”.

We were treated to two more scenes – the villainous Child-catcher/Junkman, played by Tyler Coppin, and one of the final scenes, “Toot Sweet” with most of the cast performing a song and dance number, which was lots of fun.

David Hobson and Rachael Beck lead the cast as Caractacus Potts and Truly Scrumptious.

My memory of the story is a bit patchy so we’re adding the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie to the must watch list – maybe this weekend if the rain keeps up.

Just a note – Charlie was a little worried about the Junkman scene and asked me a few questions about him afterwards.  And while it might have been a little scary for him instead of covering his eyes he covered his ears – I guess he just couldn’t bare to look away  :-)

Look forward to posting a full review after we see the show!
