If you have kids who like LEGO then this is a fantastic FREE event that they are sure to get into.
When: 10am – 5pm, 21 September – 6 October 2013
Where: Centre State, Eastland Shopping Centre, 171 – 175 Maroondah Hwy RINGWOOD
Cost: FREE, plus each day the first 100 children receive a FREE Eastland hard hat
For the little kids there is a DUPLO area and for the big kids an even bigger LEGO section. And for kids who like a challenge you can join in the Speed Play Competition (apparently there are awesome prizes to be won) which happens at regular times daily.
With no gift shop to navigate through, some pretty amazing pre-built LEGO sculptures and the LEGO mascot Max making regular appearances (on weekends) I have to say as a parent it was an easy mornings entertainment.
There is a cafe just a few metres away and if you do need LEGO supplies, Myer and Toyworld are also nearby.
The staff at the Brickzone are all very helpful – be sure to quiz them about the “Love Boat” brick creation on display – the detail is incredible and (I might not have remembered this correctly) 250,000 bricks were used and it took six months to build.
There is also a Wii set up with the Harry Potter LEGO game.
