Review

But Wait…There’s More made its world premiere under the Big Top in Melbourne last week and we were super excited to be one of the first audiences to see the show.

There is nothing like seeing an circus under the big top – the scale is big and the gestures, colour and thrill are even bigger.  The smell of popcorn and dead grass add to the 4D experience!  And I love a live band accompaniment – it’s just a whole lot of extra talent going on, especially when performers are switching between the drums and stunts and keyboards and trapeze..

It’s a two hour experience – with a 20 minute interval included.

At the end of the show I asked the kids if they had a favourite bit – and they were hard pressed to find just one favourite bit.  But if I had to choose one, for me the unicycle act was breath-taking, and the two performers who wowed us in this particular act were heavily involved in all the big stunt performances so you couldn’t help but be in awe.

As well as the usual snacks Lil’ Nomnoms - Vietnamese inspired street food – is on site.

There is a gift store on site – but no flashing swords or wands (phew).

PR blurb

With an astonishing mix of stunt-jumping acrobatics, cutting-edge juggling, virtuosic unicycling, elegant flying trapeze, the exciting Rou Cyr rim, cheeky impersonations, ridiculous knockabout and multi-skilled human physical exuberance,But Wait…There’s More uses circus to satirise the rising tide of information, speed, consumerism, visual pollution, television, the ‘net and today’s manic fast-paced lifestyles. All of this is entwined within original music performed by Circus Oz’s live and physically acrobatic band.
