The day we headed down to the Wonderland Fun Park it was a stinker of a day – we got there at 10.30am and managed to get a few rides in before the 11.30am circus performance. We had a turn on the dodgem cars, the bungee trampolines (well the kids did that one, not me) and a few turns on the Wacky Worm roller coaster (thankfully no sudden jerking movements so a fun ride and not scary).
Santa’s Circus Spectacular was fun – acrobatics and clowning about mostly. The Spielgeltent is an intimate venue and there is plenty of interaction with the audience. Charlie and his friends loved every minute and the acrobatics were impressive (I can’t even do a somersault so I am in complete awe of anyone who can hang upside down from the roof with a piece of fabric wrapped around their foot to hold them in place). The show goes for about 50 minutes. First in best dressed with the seats, so if you want a good seat join the queue 10 minutes before the show starts to get up front.
- There are only a few shaded spots in the Fun Park – but sunscreen on hand and also ice-cones for sale. With this in mind – if it is going to be a blistering scorcher of a day and being hot makes you bothered plan your rides early in the day, that or go to Icehouse across the road after the circus instead…
- Toilets are located in Harbour Town (a minutes walk away) but worth being aware of this so you can factor in a stop on your way to the Fun Park
Thank you Wonderland Fun Park for inviting us along to check out Santa’s Circus Spectacular – Charlie and his friends gave it a big thumbs up.
