Depending on queue size the Ice Slide is a 15 – 30-minute experience – and if your kids are little daredevils then they will love this!  People all ages were getting into the fun when we dropped by on the weekend.. from tots sitting on their parent’s laps to teens.

The ice slide is a thrilling 40-metre long, four-metre high ice slide is set up alongside Southbank’s waterfront, allowing passers-by to experience the thrill of riding an inflatable tube on the exhilarating journey down the slide.

It’s located next to the Food Truck Park set up from 11am to offer hot, fresh and tasty food.

Don’t be put off by the crowd – when we were there 70% of the crowd was passers by stopping for a look and parents waiting to catch their kids on film.  The actual queue (and I suspect 2pm on a sunny Saturday afternoon is prime-time) moved quite reasonably, taking about 10 or so minutes between turns.

Do be warned that the lighter you are the slower the descent – so grown ups expect a bit of a crash into the padded wall at the end!
