52-Storey Treehouse at the Arts Centre
These school holidays the much loved Treehouse books return to stage with the next installment, the 52-Storey Treehouse. This time Andy and Terry are on a mission to save Mr Bignose and Jill from the dreaded vegetable kingdom!
When: Until 17 April 2016, various times (check here). Performance is 60 minutes with no interval.
Where: Playhouse, Arts Centre Melbourne, 100 St Kilda Road MELBOURNE
Cost: $26-39, book now.
If you are a fan of the Treehouse books and have seen previous productions then this performance will not disappoint – as ridiculous and silly and inventive as always, Andy and Terry’s adventures (and solutions to problems) are always amusing. Some of the kids sitting around us were laughing so hard I am not sure if I was laughing at them or with them – but it certainly was infectious!
Before and after the show you will find the Disguise-O-Matic 5000 in action and it’s well worth factoring in 30 minutes either side of the show to let the kids get busy assembling false lips, glasses, moustaches and more. There is also a fabulous fancy dress collection which you could literally spend hours having fun with.
And the Arts Centre has also designed a special Treehouse lunchbox called the Mr Bignose lunchbox – which you do need to preorder and then collect on the day (you can book your lunchboxes here).
“I’m so thrilled — and amazed — to see the spirit of this ridiculous book so faithfully reproduced on stage. Five and a half (million) stars!’’ Andy Griffiths, Author 52-Storey Treehouse
