A kid and a camera – doing our block
Getting out and about with the kids doesn’t have to mean packing lunches and seeing a show. Often (or mostly!) it’s the every day trip you make to school or the shops.
This is our third article in our Roll Around The Block series and this time we took it literally – we did our own block, our everyday trip to the local shops at the end of our street. Except this time we looked for circles. We found so many circles we had to become selective (well not me, Imogen did). It was fun, and a little bit slower – but we saw our daily path in a new light. Imogen also practiced some of her iPhone camera skills – like tapping the screen to focus and also tapping the screen to turn dark things light (and vice versa). And she had to stop and stand really still and contemplate – 24 photographs is not many when suddenly everywhere you look there are circles.
Roll Around The Block is now part of the NGV’s summer blockbuster exhibition Melbourne Now – and you are invited to come and join in the fun. Include your child’s photo’s in the virtual gallery and they will go in the running to be on display at the NGV in January 2014. For all the details CLICK HERE.
