We all know shopping centres do shopping – and Eastland is now one of the best (hello H&M, Uniqlo, Target, Kmart, Big W, Myer and David Jones all under one roof).  But did you know that Eastland has incorporated some really fun play installations into their mall?

Eastland’s play structures not only look sculptural but they also give the kids some great time out along the way (and are strategically located near kids shops and cafes).  These play areas are about engagement and a heightened experience for young families.

The use of playful artwork throughout the centre keeps Eastland looking stylish, cool and not too serious – a winning combination.

The new play areas at Eastland are tailored to children of all ages and abilities and include:

• PLAYTIME SoftPlay systems: A sculptural and artistic expression of play combining waves and blocks designed for children to create their own fun. The PLAYTIME SoftPlay areas are also designed with durable rubberlike materials that provide an impact absorbing soft and safe area. All coatings have also been tested to kill bacteria and reduce fungi that come into contact with them, creating a hygienic play environment.

• Climbing Net: A fun challenging climbing experience for children of ages five and up. The net is secured between level one and two of the centre and is contained by a stainless steel mesh making it visible from all sides. The net has been carefully designed to ensure the highest safety standards have been met.

• Digital Water Curtain: The first of it’s kind within a shopping centre in Australia, the digital water curtain is located in the Link Mall and sends flowing water expressions from the ceiling down to a customised water trough. Shapes, words and patterns can be displayed in the water to create an interactive shopping experience. 

• Slide: A stainless steel slide will be installed in May to connect the car park to the Town Square and provide a fun activity for the whole family.
