Review

First Peoples is the newest edition to Melbourne Museum’s permanent exhibition spaces.  It is the story of Victoria’s indigenous people told through their voices utilising cutting edge technology.

Through the different media throughout the exhibition you can watch, touch, listen and experience the culture and history of our first people – while there might be a few cabinets of artefacts, you explore them by using an interactive tablet.  This exhibit/experience is filled with layers of information and presented in a way that all ages will be engaged.  Lots of stories.

Next time you’re visiting Melbourne Museum make sure you leave time to visit First Peoples, both you and the boorais (kids) are bound to learn something new about our state’s original inhabitants and traditional owners.

Outside is a small garden space (there is open water containing live eels, so parent supervision is required!) to run around.
