Inflatable World

Desperate to try and find more things to entertain my kiddies in the school holidays, my sights turned to Inflatable World, a venue I had seen advertised on TV quite a bit.  Inflatable World had the kids literally bouncing off the walls – and more!

When:  School holidays and weekends, but each venue varies.  Click here to find your closest venue.

Where:  there are 10 locations in Victoria alone – and Inflatable World’s across Australia.

Cost: Check each venue, but as a guide children aged 1 – 4 $7, aged 1 – 4 with a parent $14, everyone else $14.  Spectators FREE.

Thanks to Alli Price from Motivating Mum for this fab review!

We arrived at 3pm on a school holiday weekday at the Oakleigh location and it was amazing! The inner child in me immediately wanted to throw off my shoes and get jumping. My kids did just that.

The inflatables covered what seemed to be three or four indoor soccer or cricket pitches and boasted slides, inflatable jousting sticks, huge drops that kids could jump off into an inflatable pit and more. There was also a separate area for littlies. Pics on the website definitely don’t do the place justice – it is way bigger and more impressive in person (it turns out that Oakleigh is the biggest of the 10 locations in Victoria).

As you can imagine, there are children everywhere, but the proprietors ensure numbers aren’t excessive by limiting visits to between 2 – 2 ½ hours. They also ensure your children are looked after with approx 8 – 9 staff on the floor at any one time. You will find most of them on the larger pieces and also a floater. That said, you are still supposed to be responsible for your kids at all times – they are not there to babysit!

Best of all, if you want, you can bring your own food and water (no other drinks). There is a café if you’d prefer to feed your kids on the premises offering all the usual fare – pies, chips etc.

We left at closing time (4pm) and the gals had nothing but great things to say about Inflatable World and I couldn’t really fault it either. We will definitely be back!

Fast facts:

  • School holiday opening hours: 10 – 4 in the week, 10 – 6 on Sat, 10 – 3 on Sundays
  • School term opening hours: 10 – 6 on Sat, 10 – 3 on Sundays – may start opening on Fridays
  • You can also have parties at Inflatable World – check the website for details. Parties of kids 9+ years can do a Combo Party including Inflatable World and Sports (at the Indoor Sports Centre)
  • Your entry fee provides you with two hours in the venue
  • You must wear socks when using the equipment ( Inflatable World can provide socks for $2.50 if you don’t have your own)

**please be aware that all locations are run by Independent operators so rules/opening times etc may vary from venue to venue.  This review and photographs are from the Oakleigh venue.
