Thank you to Sally T Ridden for the great review and photographs.
Ellie, Lulu, Saha, Ashok and my lil dino T-Dex joined me to check out the renovated Latitude Kids Zone – a dedicated area for the under fives crowd at Latitude. Naturally, we were drawn to other areas of Latitude’s colourful and exciting space – the mini reviewers had a blast.
Latitude Grip Socks ($2 keepsakes) are required by all jumpers (big and small) who are taking part and for only $10 you can stay and play as long as you wish on weekdays (note: this is a great mothers/parent/playgroup activity) and on weekends, public holidays and schools holidays it’s $10 for the first hr and $7 for each additional hour, sessions are every 60 mins to match main floor activities. You can also purchase a Multi-Pass (5 or 20 session) or gift with vouchers.
Our five kids experienced the high-life at Latitude, building on their diverse confidence abilities – flexibility, balance, coordination and endurance skill & techniques for a good two plus hours on beginners facilities such as:-
- A two storey slippery slide & play circuit adventures,
- Climbing & hanging off the miniature vertical wall section,
- Hopping, bouncing, falling into the foam pits,
- Dodgeball trampoline courts,
- Basketball shoot hoops,
- Traffic management with the assorted Ride-ons, and
- Seating & tables within enclosed areas for families
The Basecamp Café, on the top level, offers panoramic views of the facilities and a spot to quench thirsts with barista coffee for adults (in order keep energy levels up with the kids) and a menu selection of freshly made, sweet, healthy, fried and cooked to order foods. There’s also a dedicated parents’ change room with seating, secured lockers and pram parking.
Birthday Parties (for a minimum of 10 kids) can be coordinated with one of their skilled event coordinators on 03) 9039 3817 and include 60 minutes in the Kids Zone and 40 minutes in a private party room with your own party host. Food & drink packages are available online. And the little birthday person receives a complimentary pass for another visit.
There’s lots more for the older/taller school aged kids, but that’s another adventure. This place certainly defy’s boredom and is a winner for parents of young kids; try to harness their enthusiasm!
