Review
This new exhibit will transport you to the forests of Madagascar, home of the world’s remaining lemur species. Enter Lemur Island through a rainforest tunnel then head up along a boardwalk toward the ‘tree house’ to discover the wonder of the world’s rainforests.
As you walk along the path you will hopefully see the ring-tail lemur’s up close and at play. With no fences, the lemurs are free to roam around and interact with their visitors. The challenge for the visitors is to stick to the path!
We sat and waited and during our 20-minute visit and saw lemurs cross paths, climb in the trees, play with each other, run, jump and come up close for what appeared to be them posing for photographs. The design of the exhibit is quite beautiful too.
Make sure you pay a visit to check out the lemur’s new home the next time you go to Melbourne Zoo!
How cool is this new enclosure – I hope the Lemurs are happy with their groovy new digs.
