“Ladles and Jellybeans” roll up and welcome to the Map57 Winter Garden.  A much needed new arts & entertainment precinct until 30th July within the St Kilda Triangle hosting culture and amusement featuring cabaret, comedy, music, a pop-up ice rink, carnival rides and a food depot.

Funatorium Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Knock-knock, who’s there… The whole family is invited to the spectacular immersive party event, the Funatorium Mad Hatter’s Tea Party where it’s good to be mad and mad to be good (otherwise just add lots more sugar for effect!) Housed inside the decadent Aurora Spiegeltent, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic tale Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, where very few things indeed are really impossible. Suited for 5yrs+ with some hilarious adult undertones this family-friendly cabaret circus show is definitely not one to be missed A human fidget spinner, bats & cats, cats & bats, a disco party pink go-go flamingo, and the magnificent cha cha chaaing Red Queen. “Who’s boring now?! “

Children are Stinky

Remember Jason & Kylie from Neighbours well these guys aren’t them, but the same named duo are debuting in Melbourne for Children are Stinky which runs until July 9, 2017. The duo attempt to prove that kids r… scared, lazy, uncoordinated, not brave and with no imagination. So many reasons for the entire family to enjoy, it’s gross yucky and messy, stinky, full of farts (and of course the word FART!), they fart all the time actually, loads of laughs acrobatics and balance, a not very long song, and even 7 minutes in fast forward pace.  Can we the audience save the show, get some perspective and find the solution proving Kids r Awesome?!

Seating for both shows is unallocated General Admission with guests seated on a ‘first in, best dressed’ basis. Both shows are running until July 9, 2017.  View entire program and book online for dates, session and pricing.

Ice Skating Rink

The Map57 Winter Garden Ice Skating Rink has increased it hours over the school holidays and weekends open 11am-9pm and 4pm-9pm weekdays.  Book online for your e-ticket to avoid the box office ticket collection arrive a good 15 minutes before your ticketed time allowing time to literally “get your skates on!” Sessions are 45 minutes and skate hire and optional helmet are included in ticket price.  If you wish to hire a skate aid for a  $10 hire fee keep your hands and eyes on it because they are in high demand and disappear in a flash for those who did not know of the hire fee! Common sense and courtesy prevail to ensure everyone has a fun enjoyable experience.  My 5yr old son had never been on icy blades before, and he nailed it within 5 minutes (proud moment!) of course a few sore moments on his rear, so between the combination of beginner-intermediate and me pushing 2 yr. old boys on aids at the same time, we 7 (in total) all had an amazing time and tried to ensure we missed those flaying uncontrollably in the non-anti-clockwise direction. I definitely got a great butt/arm workout assisting FYI.

Sit fireside and graze in the food depot presented by Hell’s Kitchen, trial a mulled warm wine in the vintage tramcar preshow or post show.  What a day! There’s an action packed schedule with something for everyone.  I can’t wait to go back after dark, this time minus the kids for some adult time!
