When: 9 June – 7 October 2018
Where: Ground floor, NGV International, St Kilda Road MELBOURNE
New York! New York! for Kids offers families a space to learn about New York City – the cultural hub that has inspired generations of artists including Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keeffe and Edward Hopper. New York is also home to the highly acclaimed Museum of Modern Art, MoMA. And MoMA at NGV just happens to be the Winter Masterpiece that cooincides with New York! New York! for Kids.
The space comprises of four activity zones – designed to engage with a variety of ages.
Across two zones, younger children can build their own miniature versions of Manhattan’s Uptown and Downtown using custom-designed wooden toy blocks that feature façades of New York buildings. The adjacent activity zones include a marble run, designed to emulate the hustle and bustle of the city with balls speeding from point to point across the city, and a photobooth activity, which highlights New York’s city skyline.
