Review

Contemporary art spaces are usually a little less rigid than traditional gallery spaces as the art here doesn’t always take itself as seriously.  This playfulness allows for children to feel more at home.  But don’t get me wrong – there is still (unless otherwise invited) no touching, and of course a certain level of respect for the other patrons goes without saying.

MCA has a fantastic activity book pitched at the junior school audience – ask at the information desk for a copy (they are free).

The cafe/restaurant on the top floor has a fabulous view of Sydney Harbour and there is a menu with kids dining options.

The MCA has a great page on it’s website filled with tips for families coming to visit, click here.  And for information about free family friendly events run by the MCA click here.
