My mini reviewer and I were recently introduced to the innovative holistic new children’s play space, Australia’s first indoor imagination playground, designed to build connections, a place where parents and children can calmly play and interact together as well as offering a balance of parental respite whilst children under 10yrs are supervised by trained early childcare educated staff.

Nubo means cloud and the 760  square metre venue is organically fitted out with softwood natural woods, neutral colour palette with white features throughout the many private pods. The instrumental music piped through the vast space is calming yet recognisable as nursery rhymes.  Highly designed yet uncomplicated open-ended spaces, each area, or pocket, features a different purpose and activity allowing children to exercise their imaginations in the form of ‘pure play” utilising bespoke educational playing tools for cross-curricular learning on STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and inquiry maths.

Try the wonderous READ well stocked book library, reading nooks complete with a cushioned clear Ballooon Basket capsule accessed via a ladder like staircase for quiet reading and themed story-time. Then there’s the Blue Building Room an impressive imaginarium with big blue hard foam blocks, pipes, tubes and balls for kids to construct anything they desired. Let’s not forget the LEGOWeDo2, Kaleido Gears and Magformer, magnetic click connect shape.

For the energetic and active child there are two Superslides plus a Rope Climb. Or try the Blue Ball Pit/Pool – jump, dive, slippery dip inside the clear Perspex “fishtank”. Overhead is a net trampoline, climbing stairs and another side slide.  Unique innovative play spaces promote wellbeing combined with uncompromising safety, health, learning and inclusion.

Treat your tastebuds and tummy to a wholefood café menu with nothing deep fried, signature pizzas, fresh produce from Sonoma Bakery and an onsite chef plus there’s even child height benches.

A baby play corner and the baby change/feed rooms have been well researched in the design by the owner (a mother of two). The dedicated kids toilets are a eye-popping experience that should not be missed boasting a large low hand-wash water fountain style feature with mini basins for extended water play.

Upstairs is the Dramatic Play House Room for numerous themed workshops, events and party occasions available upon enquiry.   Kids can also create and take a break in the creative art studios featuring Explore Workshops for the under-six yrs and Weekend Master Classes for under 10’s.
