Open House Melbourne – ArtPlay
MEETOO IS A PROUD SUPPORTER OF THE OHM CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
When: 12pm to 4pm Saturday 27 July and Sunday 28 July 2013
Where: Birrarung Marr MELBOURNE
Cost: FREE
What: Have you ever wished you could shrink like Alice in Wonderland and build yourself a house out of playing cards?
As part of the Open House weekend, you are invited to ArtPlay to help collaboratively design some giant desks of playing cards… and then build with them! Inspired by the fascinating examples of playing cards from all over the world, ArtPlay will provide all the materials you need to create new, giant versions of kinds, quenches, aces, jokers, hearts, diamonds and more. And don’t’ forget the backs too! There will be projectors and templates to aid those who like to be guided, and lots of inspiring images for those who like to free-style. Playing card collage and card games will also be on offer.

The ArtPlay building was formerly the Victorian Railways’ Jolimont Lecture Hall for electric train drivers. Today it is a popular arts studio for children and families.

Nat the Behind The Scenes at Fed Square was by ballot only – which has now closed. I know – I missed out too! 🙁 Apparently 17,000 people entered the ballot this year for the 10 behind the scenes tours!
Kate I am pretty sure the program has been designed to include all ages – from card sharks to budding designers. I will double check with ArtPlay and get back to you.
Is there any age limits for this activity?
This sounds intriguing and lots of fun.. I wonder if we’re too late to book for a Fed Square behind the scenes tour too add onto our running schedule for the day – must look into this, thanks Meetoo for the kids listing (at least it’s only 10 things to digest, the 111 is a little overwhelming!)
