Kids high Tea

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kids High Tea

These school holidays enjoy a kids High Tea experience that embraces the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, from the Leonardo Macarons to the mini pizza boxes.

When: weekdays 27 June – 14 July 2016, 10am and 12noon

Where: The Langham Melbourne, Melba Restaurant, 1 Southbank Ave SOUTHBANK

Cost:  $35 per child or $49 per child with a take home TMNT colouring book, stickers and toy, and $55 per adult for Wedgwood High Tea

A High Tea at The Langham is one of those rare treats where we can be a little bit civilized eating delectable little (yet somehow we can never fit them all in) nibbles off Wedgwood china and wearing our Sunday best.  And the kids high tea is a wonderful introduction into this world for the littles.

My 8-year-old is happiest climbing a tree, building LEGO or playing with something that comes with a remote control – and that is absolutely fine, but it’s also important for him to socialise in a variety of other ways.  The kids high tea offers a great balance of testing out your good behaviour with plenty of leeway for a bit of spillage and a bit of crawling under the table.  Add to that the attentive staff and the comfortable surrounds and you’ll be wishing you packed your bags and could stay the night too.

I always time our high tea so that it can replace a meal (ie lunch) and even then we struggle to finish everything we’ve been served.  And I would suggest my kids have medium sized appetites.  Also, given the variety of food presented, this is a great opportunity to get the kids sampling a range of different flavours and textures (albeit it food that I classify as party food – so not really a challenge to get them to have at least a nibble of everything!).

Be sure to book in advance as spaces are limited and sittings do book out.  Click here for more information and call 1800 641 107 to reserve a table.
