This production celebrates the work of fourteen 2016 NICA graduates. It is the culmination of three years of work for these students, each putting in about 30 hours a week of training to hone their circus and performance skills – ready for the big wide world.
Some of the absolute stand out moments were when Charlie Rust on the aerial straps seemed to defy gravity, Leigh Rhodes had us mesmerised (along with some chuckles) with his juggling, Bede Nash did some pretty cool stuff on the trampoline, Jordan O’Brien and Jonathan Morgan on the ropes were beautiful to watch – I felt the whole show was really strong.
The awesome thing about NICA shows is the quantity of performer – when they come together as an ensemble there is so much to watch it’s kinda amazing. And they all do completely different thing in a way that works!
This show is totally fine for the kids – it’s fun, athletic and rarely a still moment. There are three acts, Act 1 and 2 run together, with interval happening at the end of Act 2. All up the show is 1 hour 45 minutes in length (including the 20-minute interval).
