The Langham's High Tea for kids
Every school holidays the Langham Hotel’s Melba Restaurant designs a special High Tea that embraces a different children’s theme. This must be the pastry chef’s favourite time as the cakes and treats are always so much fun and they go to so much effort to embrace the theme and make each holiday event a little bit different.
When: Weekdays, Monday 31 March – Monday 21 April 2014. 10am to 11.30am or 12 noon to 1.30pm
Where: Melba Restaurant, The Langham Melbourne, 1 Southgate Avenue SOUTHBANK
Cost: $30 per child or $45 with a take home “Apples & Bananas” Wiggles CD. $54 per adult. To book click here.
It’s nice to have a little class and style injected into the school holiday fracas and the Langham provides just that. The staff are extremely accommodating of their tiny guests – general squirming and cake spillage is par for the course. And should your small date be unable to eat all of their special treat, don’t hesitate to ask for a doggy bag so that you can take it home for later.
These holidays (if you hadn’t already guessed it) the theme is The Wiggles – to celebrate the launch of their new CD Apples & Bananas. The High Tea includes a Dorothy Dinosaur cupcake, red car cookie, mini toffee apple, banana muffin and hot potato fries paired with music note sandwiches and fluffy scones. Served with babychino, apple juice or hot chocolate.
It’s important to note that there is no particular entertainment – this is purely a very special treat and a food themed experience. Sit back in the comfy lounge chairs, enjoy the impeccable service and sip your tea from the finest china – these are the memories I have of special outings I had a small child with my Grandmother when we “went to town”.
If you haven’t already make sure you enter the current Meetoo School Holiday Give-Away as one lucky family will win an invitation to enjoy one of these fabulous High Teas. Entries close Thursday 3 April 2014 so ENTER NOW.
Thanks Carla from Styling The Tribe for sharing your super cute Tribe who totally got into the theme!
