Three places to eat with kids on Phillip Island

Whether you’re visiting for a day-trip or on the Island for a holiday, it’s handy to have a few recommendations on places that are easy meal options when it comes to places to eat with the kids on Phillip Island.

These are our favourite three (so far) and I still have a couple on my to-do list – and maybe you have some more we should add!

1. Rusty Water Restaurant

When: Lunch 12 – 3pm, dinner 5.30-8.30pm, call 5952 1666 to make a reservation
Where: 1821 Phillip Island Road COWES
Cost:  kids meals start at $10, deserts $5, click here to view

Rusty’s was recommended by fellow blogger Debs from Learn With Play At Home – and it didn’t disappoint!  Service was friendly and prompt with the kids menu supplied on a colouring sheet.  I thoroughly enjoyed my Confit Duck Maryland (GF) $28 with creamy mash, green beans, orange segments with a mandarin – soy caramel sauce followed by an Affogarto $15 (minus the liqueur).  The kids had pasta with red sauce and pizza and chips, followed by lemon sorbet.

2. Asian Kitchen

When: Lunch 12 – 2pm and dinner 5 – 9pm daily, call 5952 6560 to make a reservation
Where: 49-53 Thompson Avenue COWES
Cost: Mains start at $15

The Asian Kitchen was recommended by my cousin who visits family down that way – and it was regular Chinese and Vietnamese fare.  It certainly didn’t disappoint and we all left will full bellies and smiles.  Check the menu here.Asian Kitchen Phillip Island places to eat with kids on Phillip Island

3. Churchill Island Heritage Farm

When: Monday – Friday: 10.00am – 5.00pm, Saturday and Sunday: 9.00am – 5.00pm, call 5951 2800 to make a reservation
Where: 246 Samuel Amess Drive, Churchill Island, NEWHAVEN

The cafe in the visitors centre at Churchill Island Heritage Farm celebrates local produce and is also licensed.  The menu ranges from cafe snacks through to full meals.  Added to the fab cafe is the farm itself, check out our review.

Last time we were on Phillip Island I thought we’d stop by The Cape Kitchen for a bit of a look-see but it was closed – turns out they are only open for breakfast and lunch (Friday – Monday)… something to look forward to for next time, as the view looked amazing (as does the menu)!  If  you like some drool worthy Instagram check out @thecapekitchen
