Tommee Tippee Express and Go (WIN)
At some point in the baby feeding game, if you’re breastfeeding, you may need to store excess milk – it’s very handy for those times when you’re not there. Tommee Tippee’s closer to nature® Express and Go storage and heating system make both the storage and the warming of breast milk super easy.
What: tommee tippee® closer to nature® Express and Go Complete Breast Milk Starter Set
Cost: RRP$130. The range is available at Babies R Us, Baby Bunting and Big W.
When you have a newborn baby there is a lot of anxiety around keeping all the expressing and bottling equipment clean and sterile, there is also anxiety about what temperature to serve the milk at and then there is the challenge of getting that bottle ready ASAP – babies just don’t have any appreciation for “just a moment” nor do they tolerate novices fumbling and bumbling about in the wee hours of the morning.
If for some reason the mother with the boobie juice happens to not be available when her infant requires a feed – it makes sense to leave a supply behind for the surrogate.. and it makes sense that what is left for the surrogate is fail proof and simple – because there is nothing like the cry of a baby to send even the most level headed person into a dither.
My milk bar shut up shop years ago – but oh, I do remember expressing and storing my precious mls of milk in the most awkward of storage systems (back in the olden days)… and yes I have cried over spilt milk. So to help review this product I have enlisted the help of my sister-in-law and brand new nephew Oliver.
Unfortunately the day before I visited to take my photos Oliver’s dad had been babysitting and had used up the four pouches of breast milk Georgie had prepared – so the pouches in my photos are empty. But Georgie was very enthusiastic at how useful they have been and how often she has used them. Being able to feed Oliver breast milk whenever possible has been a definite bonus – and while he’s still very young it has meant that Georgie has been able to leave Oliver if she needs to, which is no mean feat when they need feeding every couple of hours. Oliver’s dad is doing the nightly “dream feed” and Georgie is expressing at other times to help with the production (as Oliver hits that 8-week spurt) – and so they really are in the thick of milk storage and feeding!
The tommee tippee® closer to nature® system allows you to express directly into the milk storage pouches – removing the need to disinfect bottles and double handle the milk. The storage pouch can go straight into the freezer or the fridge to be used later. When it is needed it can be warmed and then inserted directly into the pouch bottle.
While Georgie had lots of good things to say about the system she also added that the bottles size is probably better suited to slightly bigger babies (that was also partly her personal preference) and the milk warmer – well they are both still experimenting with it while they figure out the right setting for Oliver. Georgie thought perhaps their bottles were overheating slightly as they only had small quantities of milk in them – when Oliver is older and drinking much more in one feed then the bottles will be fuller and possibly won’t be prone to overheating.

I’m expecting twins so anything that will save me time is a win in my book.
With 2 kids and another on the way my hands are going to be full. This system will mean I can have a small break without worrying about bub!
i will be able to get things done while ensuring that my baby is still getting the best (or getting the breast lol)
so that everyone can have a turn at sleeping in
I was hopeless at breastfeeding and expressing with our first child so with number 2 having something to make it easier would be wonderful
This will be excellent got baby due in 15 weeks. First bubba I use a hand pump and it took me hours and I couldn’t get anything out
I would really love to win this for my daughter in law, she is due in March. My son really wants to be involved in the feeding, but at this stage they cant afford these sorts of things. And of course it would be amazing to give it to them. Thank you Ann
My fiancé is expecting twins by cesarean in the next week and they will be in special care unit for a while. This would help her so much as I can help her to feed them.
This’d give my niece some well-deserved freedom and flexibility and also let her have that glass of wine she’s been dreaming of for nine months!
I’m returning to work in the new year, the express and go system would be the perfect way to transition bubs and I!
Heading back to work while studying full time, reluctantly sending Bub off to daycare. Expressing has become difficult manually. This would really ease my load.
Here here to a Friday drink! Exciting times ahead Catherine – best wishes xx
Having bub 2.0 in 6 weeks’ time right on time for the busy xmas season! Didn’t express a great deal with bub 1.0 probably because I didn’t have much milk to start off with and things were a bit too much trying to keep up with bottles etc. I am hoping that with a Tommee Tippee’s closer to nature® Express and Go storage system and more milk second time around, I will be expressing lots more and be able to build up a good stock level of milk for when Fridays come around and I need to have that well earned glass of wine after a long week and when both bubs are in bed!
My sister who is expecting her first baby would appreciate some help in making feeding time easier and when out and about be able to easily and conveniently feed her baby.
Express system have been a hit and miss (so far mostly a miss) so I already own few, so I love that this system works with other pumps too. The pouches that store the milk previously expressed means I can head off to bed for a well earned rest.
I am breastfeeding my new born. But also want her to get use to the bottle as if I am not around her which is possible as I have two toddlers running around me all the time and I can’t hear my baby to cry for milk every time I am away. Any one else can feed her When ever needed. It would definitely be such a peace of mind for me.
Six weeks! Not long to go Jo. Expressing and all the palaver takes patience and (and for some) persistence – the fact that the storeage is so much simpler these days just takes away another layer of palaver and anxiety. Exciting times ahead xx
With any luck, I will be able to breast feed, but want baby’s Daddy to also experience the bonding of feeding his baby. (And help with night feeds….!?)
Neither of us have any idea what we’re in for (due in 6 weeks) but anything that is going to help us to share the load and feed our new baby is surely a good thing! And as the owner of a small business, I will need to be able to express for a bottle feed or two, when I have to pop into the office, so this sounds like a winner for us!
