The Bunker Indoor Skate Park
I took Charlie (4) and his little mate along for a morning of non stop fun – the boys are still raving about it and Charlie can’t wait to go again. Got a little Eveready bunny who likes to scooter – then this is the perfect outing for you!

This is a no brainer – if you have little ones (or teenagers) who love to scoot then get yourself to the Bunker! For little ones the perfect time to go is during school hours when you can have the Bunker practically all to yourself. We arrived at 11am on a Friday and for the first hour we were the only people there. I thought we might last an hour, 2.5 hours later (and a few text messages to the mum of Charlie’s friend) we managed to leave. The boys did not stop – they skated past me a few times to grab a fistful of food and a gulp of water, and by the time we left they were drenched in sweat (it was not a hot day either).
You can hire scooters and helmets – but you must BYO your own knee and elbow pads, which I recommend (mostly so the kids can go a bit faster without fear of nasty bumps – we had no stacks, but I think the pads gave the boys a little more confidence).
There is a little cafe there, but you can BYO your own snacks. There is also free wifi and a bunch of the latest trashy mags to keep mums occupied (there is only so much ‘watching’ you can do if you’re there for an extended period).
There are also party facilities and lockers (BYO lock).
As for location, well it’s a bit of a trek – took us about 20/25minutes drive from Prahran, but it’s an easy drive. For tween/teenagers it’s not far from Mordialloc station (on the Frankston Line).
The day we visited one of the guys who worked there came out for a scoot and had the boys in awe with his tricks!

Ohh we live in Brighton so this isn’t too far – my son and his mates will love this! Thanks for sharing, we’ll definately have to try it out when the big kids are at school… sounds like a perfect morning activity for mothers group.
